Environmental Practice

Mr. Kevin Hynes, who heads this Practice offers full environmental services to clients at O'Keefe Lyons & Hynes, LLC. With working experience in the federal and state government, the state legislature and private practice, Mr. Hynes assists clients in various matters, from defending enforcement actions to major brownfield redevelopment projects; from obtaining permits to counseling clients on everyday regulatory issues.

Mr. Hynes has worked with clients redeveloping contaminated properties, including reviewing or drafting purchase agreements, obtaining environmental insurance policies, obtaining 'No Further Remediation' letters, securing any permits necessary for developing the property, and identifying financial incentives that may be available for brownfield redevelopment.

He has several years of government and private-practice experience defending enforcement actions or litigating private environmental matters at the federal, state and administrative levels. He has also counseled developers, manufacturers, utilities and government agencies in a wide array of matters under the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act (including wetlands), RCRA, CERCLA and several state environmental statutes.

Mr. Hynes brings to the table a uniquely balanced approach to the complex environmental issues that our clients confront.
